South Florida MGMA’s diverse membership comprises administrators, CEOs, physicians in management, board members, office managers and many other management professionals. They work in medical practices and ambulatory care organizations of all sizes and types, including integrated systems and hospital and medical school-affiliated practices.
South Florida MGMA has three membership classifications:
• Active Member
• Affiliate Member
• Student Member
Active Members are individuals directly employed full time by a medical practice with at least one full time licensed Medical Doctor formally organized for health care delivery. Examples are Single or Multi-Specialty Medical Groups, Laboratories, Independent Testing Facilities, Diagnostic Testing Facilities, Management Service Organizations, Integrated Delivery Networks, Hospital or Health Systems, Medical Homes, Accountable Care Organizations, and Medical Societies or Healthcare Related Non-Profit Organizations.
Membership Fee: $100 per calendar year, per member
Affiliate Members are organizations or individuals which provide products and services directly to health care delivery organizations that do not quality for Active Membership. Examples of these are Accounting and Legal Firms, Billing, Financial, and Consulting Services, Data Processing, Information Management Systems/Services, Insurance Plans, Insurance Agents, Medical Systems, Medical Suppliers and Equipment, Marketing Companies, Office Supplies and other vendors.
Membership Fee: $500 per calendar year, per member
Student Members are individuals pursuing health care studies on a full-time basis.
Membership Fee: $15 per calendar year, per member
*South Florida MGMA Board of Directors reserves the right to approve or reject membership.
Networking - Interacting with other medical administrators and managers who face similar responsibilities and challenges is one of the most important benefits of South Florida MGMA membership. A wide variety of specialists are represented in our membership, and each specialty has its own unique concerns. South Florida MGMA hosts networking events in Miami and Ft. Lauderdale 4-6 times a year.
Education – Through bi-monthly educational sessions, South Florida MGMA strives to keep members informed of health care trends and issues that are of local, state and national importance. Educational meetings provide opportunities to exchange information among other members, as well as hear from locally known speakers and business community leaders.
Products and Services – Our Affiliate Members provide access to information, products, and services that support medical practices. South Florida MGMA members are kept on the cutting edge of the medical field by access to the latest technology and developments in computer hardware and software, banking, legal, and accounting services, medical and office equipment and supplies, and laboratory, radiology, and other ancillary services. Many affiliate members provide discounts to South Florida MGMA members.
